A subdomain is a web address, which is under a main, or a root domain. One example is something.domain.com, in which domain.com is the main domain name, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Every single subdomain can have its own website and records i.e. apart from using the domain name as part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be completely independent and also hosted by a separate company. Using a subdomain can be very practical if you wish to have different sites that are related in some way. For example, you could have a web-based store under the main domain as well as a forum under a subdomain so as to offer means for your clients to ask questions or share views regarding your products. The best thing about using a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the web sites are going to be separated, so that you can update one of them or perform maintenance not affecting the other.
Subdomains in Hosting
Our hosting packages will permit you to create hundreds of subdomains for every domain address hosted inside your account without any difficulty. Provided that the main domain is added, it takes 2 mouse clicks to set up a subdomain and select what folder it will open (if different from the default one), create customized error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and control. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using instant access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that particular subdomain. We haven't set a restriction for the total amount of subdomains which you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.
Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our Linux semi-dedicated hosting don't have a limit for the amount of subdomains you can create. Adding a new subdomain inside the account takes only a couple of mouse clicks in the Hepsia web hosting Control Panel and throughout the process you can pick the folder the subdomain will access if it will be different from the default one, set up custom-made error pages, enable FrontPage Extensions if you need them or create a dedicated IP address rather than the shared server one provided you have added such an upgrade to your semi-dedicated account. As soon as the subdomain is created, you will be able to access logs and visitor statistics or easily jump to the site files for it in the File Manager section by using quick access buttons. All subdomains that you have in the account will be conveniently listed under their root domain, so you are going to be able to find and control any one of them with ease.
